Biomarker Cancer Project

Cancer has proven to be a major burden for the Hispanic community, which accounts for nearly 20% of America's population. In fact, the leading cause of death for Hispanic Americans is cancer; one in three Hispanics will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Despite being at a higher risk for certain cancer types, Hispanic Americans, as compared to their non-Hispanic White counterparts, are underdiagnosed for the most common cancers. Knowing this information, NHMA and Amgen Inc. have partnered to develop a webinar series to educate the public on the impact of cancer on Hispanic Americans and disparities in cancer care and outcomes.
