The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) and Johnson & Johnson have partnered together for a Cultural Competence Project to develop resources to train physicians and enhance current efforts in the medical education curriculum through key topics, thought leaders, and references to improve quality care for Hispanics and other minority populations in the United States.

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 7:00 PM- 8:15 PM ET, NHMA hosted our Cultural Competence & the Future of Healthcare Workforce Webinar supported by Johnson & Johnson. Key points covered included providing quality, culturally sensitive, & holistic care to underrepresented communities with limited access to healthcare.

With quality of care starting in the medical education system, physicians and members of the medical school faculty discussed how curricula focused on understanding the cultural backgrounds of patients can engage patients more effectively and provide better care for Hispanic and other underserved communities.
