NHMA provides interviews about current health care issues for reporters and writes op-eds and news articles on a regular basis that have been published across the country. In addition, NHMA has developed media relations with print and electronic media in large and middle-level media markets as the Association has had events across the country.

In 2000, NHMA started working with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and has convened a breakfast series with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and with media management from TV and newspapers with CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, Univision, Telemundo and major English and Spanish newspapers in Los Angeles, San Antonio, Chicago, New York and Sacramento.

In 2002, NHMA convened media events on the Uninsured and Quality of Health Care Issues and Hispanics in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Washington, DC and the National Hispanic Health Leadership Summit in San Antonio that have promoted media attention.
