NHMA Conference Media Credentials Policy

The National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) welcomes journalists and other media representatives to attend and cover the NHMA 26th Annual Conference (27-30, 2023). To ensure a respectful and professional environment for all attendees, the following media policy is in place:

  1. All members of the media must receive media credentials from the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) and officially register in order to attend the NHMA Annual Conference.

    • Media Credentials Eligibility Requirements: 

      1. Individuals must be professional journalists or reporters, or represent recognized media outlets

      2. Applicants must provide documentation to support their credentials, such as a press ID, business card, or a letter of assignment from their media outlet.

      3. Media representatives must attend with the purpose of producing news stories or other editorial content related to the conference, including but not limited to the following topics: Hispanic health, public health, healthcare policy, medical education, representation in medicine, or other related areas.

      4. All media representatives in attendance must follow standard journalistic practices 

    • Application Process:

      1. All media representatives must submit this application form to request credentials to cover the NHMA  Annual Conference.

      1. By submitting an application for media credentials, you agree to abide by the NHMA Media Credentials Policy and all Conference Policies and Guidelines if approved.

      2. Notification of Approved Media Credentials: NHMA will reach out to approved media representatives by email to provide confirmation of media credentials.

      • Approved/credentialed media representatives will receive a 15% off discount on their conference registration.

  1. Restrictions

    • Media representatives are not permitted to record, photograph, or quote any event proceedings without express permission from the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA).

      1. To request permission to officially cover a plenary or workshop, please contact NHMA Associate Director of Communications Dylan Garcia at [email protected]

    • All statements, speeches, or opinions made on behalf of the NHMA or by an NHMA leader, member, or employee, are to be considered "off the record" unless noted otherwise. 

    • Media representatives must identify themselves and the organization they represent upon registration and must wear their official credentials at all times during the event.

    • Media access may be restricted for certain events, at the discretion of the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA).
