NHMA Advocacy Program

The purpose of the NHMA Advocacy Program is to educate the Congress, Federal Executive Branch and the public about improving Hispanic health through strategies to advance Cultural Competence and Language Services, Diversity in the Health Professions, Increasing Access to Healthcare Services, and Eliminating Health Disparities for Hispanics.

NHMA is convening the "Hispanic Health Congressional Briefing Series" and welcomes you to pass on the information from the briefings.

The California Endowment is sponsoring year 4 and 5 of the project to develop the Government Affairs Office at NHMA and to continue the advocacy in DC through the NHMA Congressional Hispanic Health Briefing Series and the National Coalition on Hispanic Health working with policy-makers and in California working with Senator Ortiz, Chair, Senate Health Committee and the Latino Caucus.

NHMA is coordinating the National Coalition for Hispanic Health, representing various national organizations interested in better health for Hispanics.
